Beat Sitter-Liver

Beat Sitter-Liver (born in Bern in 1939 ) is a Swiss philosopher . He is adjunct professor at the University of Friborg (Switzerland) .

Life

Beat Sitter-Liver studied from 1958 to 1975 in Bern (medical propaedeutic), Reykjavík (Icelandic), Bern (philosophy, German language and literature, English language and literature, legal and state theory), Cologne (philosophy, German language, English literature ) and Bern (philosophy, German language and literature, English language and literature, legal and state theory). He received his doctorate from the University of Bern and completed his habilitation at the University of Freiburg.

From 1972 to 2002 he was full-time Secretary General of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences , and until 1991 of the Swiss Academy of Natural Sciences . As a visiting professor and lecturer, Sitter-Liver taught in Bern, Munich , Lucerne , Basel and at the ETH Zurich, among others . In 1990 he became a private lecturer and in 1994 an adjunct professor at the University of Freiburg. He advocates justice for all living beings , including animal rights and plant rights .
