Beate Kittsteiner

Beate Kittsteiner (born September 9, 1958 in Munich ) is a German jazz flutist and baritone saxophonist who has also emerged as an interpreter of choro .

Live and act

Kittsteiner, daughter of a painter and amateur musician, dealt with music at an early age. After completing school at the Pestalozzi Gymnasium in Munich , she studied flute at the State University of Music in Munich. She deepened her knowledge at the Munich Jazz School and at Karl Berger's Creative Music Studio in Woodstock (New York) . She played in the Big Band of Al Porcino , the Creative Music Orchestra , the Grupo Vereno Brasil , Tocando and the saxophone quartet Saxadon / na, but also with her husband Hermann Martlreiter's group . Since the beginning of the 1980s she has performed with her own quartet and since the 1990s with her International Jazz Quintet , which has also been documented on several albums.
