Hermann Martlreiter
Hermann Martlreiter (* 8. December 1954 in Landshut ) is a German saxophonist and flutist of modern jazz .
Martlreiter studied at the Munich Jazz School with Leszek Zadlo . After first appearances with Joe Viera and Hans Rettenbacher , he belonged to the big bands of Al Porcino and Harald Rüschenbaum and to the Franco-German jazz ensemble under Albert Mangelsdorff and Jean-François Jenny-Clark , with whom he played at the jazz festivals in Berlin, Paris and Lille occurred. His band Airplay included Peter Tuscher , Max Neissendorfer , Hans Rettenbacher and John Betsch , later Geoff Goodman , Rocky Knauer and John Betsch. He worked with Jim Pepper , Barbara Dennerlein , Charly Antolini and his wife, Beate Kittsteiner , among others . In a trio with Sava Medan and Alex Sanguinetti, he interpreted the music of Bill Evans .
