Felix Wahnschaffe (born December 24, 1964 in Bonn ) is a German alto saxophonist and composer of creative jazz . At times he also appeared as Felix Wahnshuffle .

Live and act

Wahnschaffe completed a music degree at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with David Friedman , Sigi Busch and Dave Liebman . In the following years he worked a. a. with Ronnie Burrage , Miroslav Vitouš , Alexander von Schlippenbach's Berlin Contemporary Jazz Orchestra , Aki Takase , John Tchicai , Simon Nabatov , Matthias Schubert , Sam Rivers and Steve Lacy . In 1997 he stayed in New York on a composition scholarship. He led groups of different styles, from bebop to free jazz to modern creative. He directed various ensembles for which he also composed contemporary chamber music jazz. The focus has been on the band Das Rosa Rauschen since 1997 , initially with John Schröder on guitar, since 2010 with Achim Kaufmann on piano and Oliver Potratz and Eric Schaefer , with whom he has released three albums so far. He also maintains an organ trio orgonauts with Wolfgang Roggenkamp on the Hammond B3 organ and Ray Kaczynski on drums. He also recorded with Association Urbanetique , Twana Rhodes, Florian Ross , Helen Schneider and Geoff Goodman .
