Horst Nonnenmacher

Horst Nonnenmacher (* 1962 in Tübingen ) is a German double bass player of creative jazz and world music .

Live and act

Nonnenmacher, who got to know jazz through his father's record collection, first played hard rock from 1979 . After graduating from high school, he moved to Berlin, where he studied classical double bass between 1984 and 1989 at the University of the Arts . He became known as a founding member of the Association Urbanétique. Later he was a member of Hannes Zerbes Quartet Bukolik , the Composers Orchestra Berlin and the Modern Klezmer Quartet as well as the group BalkaNova.

Nonnemacher can be heard on the Background for Improvisers by Improviser's Pool featuring Sam Rivers and Alexander von Schlippenbach , Jim Black and Andreas Willers as well as on CD recordings with Paul Bley , Yves Robert , Mircea Tiberian , Vladimir Karparov , Elliott Sharp and David Tronzo . He also worked for the theater, as composer and arranger of the music for the Carmen Miranda Revuepavillon , as well as for the variety show Mythology or Mira Miranda by and with Eutália de Carvalho. He is also the section leader of the double basses, a member of the Young Orchestra of the Free University of Berlin and leads the band Oktopuzzle. To date he has completed numerous tours in Europe, America and Australia.
