Beatus Albrecht von Ramstein
Beatus Albrecht von Ramstein (born July 14, 1594 in Waldighofen ; † August 25, 1651 in Pruntrut ) was Prince-Bishop of the Duchy of Basel from 1646–1651 .
Life
Ramstein studied from 1615 to 1619 at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and then immediately became vicar general of the diocese of Worms . In 1629 he became a canon at the Basel cathedral chapter, where in 1640 he was promoted to cathedral custodian. His election as Bishop of Basel (1646) was not recognized by the Roman Curia for formal reasons; he was therefore not really appointed bishop until 1650 and was ordained bishop in 1651.
