Beau Beech (born March 1, 1994 in Ponte Vedra Beach , Florida ) is an American basketball player .

Career

Beech played at Ponte Vedra High School under his father Bud as a coach. His good performance as a student piqued the interest of universities, he ended up at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville , where he was part of the basketball team from 2012 to 2016. He finished his university time with a strong 2015/16 season, in which he hit an average of 15.4 points per use in 34 games and collected 6.4 rebounds. Beech hit 97 three-point throws for North Florida in his senior season.

In July 2016, he was awarded a one-year contract by the NBA team Brooklyn Nets , was used in a preparation game, but was removed from the squad before the start of the season in October 2016. He then played for Brooklyn's training team, the Long Island Nets , in the NBA G-League in the 2016/17 season and scored an average of 7.4 points in 36 appearances. Beech then remained without a club until mid-January 2018 when he was signed by the Erie BayHawks (also NBA G-League), for whom he was on the field in 20 main round games until the end of the 2017/18 season and a mean of 5.9 Points achieved per match.

In August 2018 Beech signed his first contract abroad, he joined the Hamburg Towers in the German 2nd Bundesliga ProA . He won the ProA championship with the Hamburg team in the 2018/19 season. Beech contributed to this success as the second-best basket shooter (12.6 points / game) as well as best distance shooter (89 three-point throws hit) and best rebounder (6.3 per game) of the team. In June 2019, his contract in Hamburg was extended. He was elected team captain in the run-up to the first Hamburg Bundesliga year. The American scored an average of 9.7 points for the Hanseatic League in 19 appearances in the Bundesliga.

In summer 2020 he accepted an offer from PAOK Thessaloniki .
