Beauvaisis

The Beauvaisis or Beauvoisis (from Latin Bellovaci ) is a historical landscape of France in the Île-de-France . It lies south of the Amiénois and north of the Vexin français. To the west of the Beauvaisis were the territories of the Lords of Compiègne and Senlis . The main town is Beauvais , other towns are Clermont , Liancourt , Fitz-James , Gerberoy , Boufflers , Beaumont . At the time of the Ancien Régime , the Beauvaisis belonged first to the ruler of Picardy , then to that of the Île-de-France. Today it is part of the Oise department in the Picardy region .
