The Bebersee is a natural, outflow-free lake in the Schorfheide in northern Brandenburg . The small lake is in the area of ​​the Groß Dölln district (town of Templin , district of Uckermark ). It is part of the Bollwinwiesen / Großer Gollinsee nature reserve and is therefore in the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve .

Geographical location and hydrography

The lake lies on the boundary of the Bebersee of the same name . The place directly on the lake was initially incorporated as a district after Groß Dölln in 1960. Since Groß Dölln was incorporated into the city of Templin in 2003, Bebersee has been part of the municipality of Groß Dölln. The lake is 2.26 hectares in size, its water level is approx. 56  m above sea level. NHN . It has no inflows or outflows.

history

In 1736 the lake was handed down as Bebersee, in 1748 the spelling Beversee. According to Sophie Wauer, the name is to be understood as a beaver lake , in Low German Bäwer = beaver. The colonist village of Bebersee , which was built on the south bank of the Bebersee in 1749 , was named after its location.
