Morisel ( Picard : Morisi) is a northern French municipality with 518 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Moreuil .

geography

Morisel is located on the left (western) bank of the Avre immediately adjacent to Moreuil on the D14 departmental road.

history

The place is first mentioned in 936 as Moriselum.

It was completely destroyed in the First World War in March 1918. He received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award . Reconstruction began in 1920.
