Braches ( Picard : Fallow) is a northern French municipality with 263 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Moreuil .

geography

Braches is located on the left (western) bank of the Avre , into which the Braches brook flows, which runs for almost 5 km essentially parallel to the Avre in its valley, around 5 km south-southeast of Moreuil . Braches is connected by a bridge to La Neuville-Sire-Bernard on the opposite bank of the river. The river valley is partly swampy.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
