Le Quesnel ( Picard : L'Tchini) is a northern French municipality with 792 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Moreuil .

geography

The municipality in the Santerre countryside is located north of the generously developed departmental road D934 (former Route nationale 334 ) from Amiens to Noyon, around 14 km northwest of Roye on the departmental roads D41 and D161.

Toponymy and History

The name of the municipality is derived as a diminutive of the name chêne (in Picard: Quesne) for oak.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
