Rollot ( Picard : Reulou) is a northern French municipality with 751 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier and belongs to the canton of Roye .
geography
The most southerly municipality in the Somme department on the border with the Oise department is elongated around 10 km southeast of Montdidier on the D935 departmental road (former Route nationale 35) to Compiègne and the D37 departmental road (in the neighboring D27), which is part of the system the Chaussée Brunehaut forms. The hamlets of La Villette, Beauvoir, La Madeleine and, to the north, isolated Regibaye belong to Rollot.
history
The remains of a Gallo-Roman villa were found in Rollot, which became famous for the AOC cheese of the same name . The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
