Sauvillers-Mongival ( Picard : Seuvilé-Mongivo) is a northern French municipality with 175 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

geography

The agricultural community, bordered by a dry valley in the southeast, is located around six kilometers south of Moreuil at the intersection of the D83 and D84 département roads.

Toponymy and History

Mongival is a former hamlet that was destroyed by Spanish troops during the siege of Corbie in 1636 . The community came to the Lords of Raineval in 1393 . In the First World War it was almost completely destroyed, recaptured in July 1918 by the French troops. She received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
