Assainvillers ( Picard : Sainvilé) is a northern commune with 108 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Somme department in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier and belongs to the canton of Roye .

geography

The municipality on the border of the department in the Santerre countryside with the isolated Ferme Defoy in the west and the Ferme Le Moulin in the south is located around four kilometers southeast of Montdidier and is adjacent to the D935 (former Route nationale 35) to Compiègne .

history

Numerous traces of prehistoric settlement have been found in Assainvillers.

The medieval chapel of Sainte-Geneviève was destroyed in 1768.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
