history
The 15th century mansion was destroyed in the Burgundian Wars. The corps de logis of the castle was built between 1611 and 1640. The castle, enlarged in the 18th century, belonged to Louis de Goussencourt, Count of Grivesnes, until the French Revolution ; it was then confiscated and sold. Ainval and Septoutre merged in 1829 to form the municipality of Ainval-Septoutre, which came to Grivesnes in 1965. During the First World War , the community with the castle suffered damage, especially during fighting in early April 1918. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
