Becquigny ( Picard : Bècgny) is a northern French municipality with 131 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier and belongs to the canton of Roye .

geography

The municipality is located almost entirely south on the left bank of the Avre in the Santerre countryside around eight kilometers northeast of Montdidier on the D214E departmental road.

history

Gallo-Roman finds were uncovered in the municipality. Becquigny is first mentioned in 1119. The place belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Corneille in Compiègne . There was a Templar settlement .

The community, which was affected in the First World War , received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
