Goyencourt ( Picard : Goéyincourt) is a northern French municipality with 94 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye and belongs to the canton of Roye .

geography

The municipality is located about three kilometers northwest of and immediately adjacent to Roye on the D34 departmental road. It is bounded in the south by the Départementsstraße D934 (former Route nationale 334 ) and in the east by the Autoroute A1 and the high-speed railway line of the LGV Nord , which runs parallel to it .

history

The remains of a Gallo-Roman villa have been found in Goyencourt. In the Middle Ages the place came under the rule of Ourscamp Monastery . In 1653 it was sacked by the Spanish army during the clashes of the Fronde . During the First World War it was destroyed with the castle. The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
