Démuin is a northern French municipality with 493 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Moreuil .
geography
The municipality in the Santerre countryside lies on both sides of the Luce on the departmental roads D23 from Moreuil to Corbie , D43 to Albert , D76 and D137, around 7 km northeast of Moreuil. In the south, Démuin extends beyond the D934 (former Route nationale 334 ). The hamlet of Courcelles, opposite Aubercourt , belongs to the municipality .
history
In Démuin there used to be a castle where King Louis XIII. Moved into quarters in 1636 during the siege of Corbin . The parish, which was particularly fought over in 1918, received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 award .
