Saint-Marcel church

Cottenchy ( Picard : Cotinchy) is a northern French municipality with 576 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

geography

The community is almost entirely on the left (western) bank of the Noye around six kilometers north of Ailly-sur-Noye .

history

In Cottenchy was the Cistercian Abbey Paraclet des Champs , founded in 1218 , which was abandoned in the 17th century. The name lives on in the Lycée Agricole d'Amiens-le Paraclet in the far north of the municipality and in a fishing facility just outside the municipality.
