Fresnoy-lès-Roye ( Picard : Frénoé-lès-toe) is a northern French municipality with 293 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye and belongs to the canton of Roye .
geography
The municipality located in the Santerre countryside around 5.5 km north of Roye at the intersection of the D139 and D132 département roads is cut in a north-south direction by the A1 autoroute and the parallel high-speed rail line operated by LGV Nord . The disused railway line from Chaulnes to Roye also touches the municipality in the east.
history
In October 1914, Fresnoy was the scene of fighting. The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
