Cantigny ( Picard : Cantegny) is a northern French municipality with 114 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier and belongs to the canton of Roye .

The municipality in the Santerre countryside is located on the D26 département road around 7 km west-northwest of Montdidier .

history

The community was in the First World War in the battle of Cantigny in May 1918 by American troops under the command of Major General Robert Lee Bullard recaptured. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
