Beuvraignes ( Picard : Buvrainne) is a northern French municipality with 860 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Somme department in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye and belongs to the canton of Roye .
geography
The municipality, known as Beverinae in 1048, on the south-eastern edge of the Santerre landscape is around 7 km south of Roye and east of the A 1 autoroute and the LGV Nord high-speed railway . The D133 department road runs through it in an east-west direction. The municipality includes the hamlets of Rue de l'Abbaye, Cessier and the isolated Loges (with a planned landfill in the Bois des Loges).
history
Finds show a Gallo-Roman settlement. Since the 13th century, the place belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Éloi in Noyon . After the French Revolution , a castle was built in Loges. In 1879 Beuvraignes received a rail connection to the now dismantled rail line (LGV Nord has no stop).
During the First World War , the place was reduced to rubble and ashes in 1915. The reconstruction took ten years. The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
