The epitaph for Joachim von Sirgenstein is located in the parish church of St. Johannes Evangelist in Amtzell , a municipality in the Ravensburg district in Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ).
description
The epitaph in the Renaissance style for Joachim von Sirgenstein († 1588) shows the deceased praying under the cross in the middle. The scene is framed by pilasters with capitals . The following inscription is affixed to the architrave : "O MAN IN TIME MAKE GFASAT YOU ZVM DIE DRACHT TO GOTES REICH". Above it is a volute-like structure with a coat of arms, which is flanked by angels. On the pilasters there is the ancestral sample with a total of 16 coats of arms of the ancestors. On the base of the epitaph, the grave testimony and the praise for the dead are written.
The epitaph is attributed to Esaias Gruber .
