Thennes ( Picard : Teinne) is a northern French municipality with 563 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier , is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and belongs to the canton of Moreuil .

geography

Thennes is located on the right (eastern) bank of the Avre at the confluence of the Luce , which separates the community from neighboring Berteaucourt-lès-Thennes , on the D935 (former Route nationale 35 ). The railway line from Amiens to Montdidier runs through the municipality .

history

Thennes had been dependent on Corbie Abbey since 780 .

During the First World War , the community suffered considerable damage, especially in 1918. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
