Beborn Beton is an electro-pop band from Germany .
Band history
Beborn Beton was founded in 1989 by Michael B. Wagner (music) and Stefan Tillmann (music) and a short time later supplemented by Stefan Netschio (text and vocals). With their first tape releases (1989–1992), sampler contributions (since 1991) and a large number of live gigs, they quickly gained a considerable following.
This led to a record deal in 1993 with the Dortmund label Subtronic, which released the debut Tybalt with the release Twisted and two years later Concrete Ground .
Due to artistic differences, Beborn Beton separated from the label in 1996 and dared to start over with Strange Ways Records. Probably the right decision, as it turned out later, because the success of the third Beborn concrete disc Nightfall exceeded the band's expectations by far.
A year later the success was exceeded again with the album Truth , with which one left the well-trodden independent paths and created melancholy pop anthems. In 1999 the album Fake was released , which was also successful.
Since then, the artists have devoted themselves to an ambitious remix project, which has been on sale since November 2000. Even though most of the musical work in this case was done by other musicians, the project was organized and prepared by the band itself. So z. B. for some pieces the vocals are re-recorded and samples are provided. On the other hand, remixes were made for many of the bands involved.
In May 2002 WTII Records released a best-of double CD enriched with further remixes, the first release in the USA. The edition was accompanied by a four-week tour through 15 cities, from the east (Miami) to the west coast (Seattle).
In 2015 the album "A Worthy Compensation" was released on the Dependent label , which received positive international reviews. For the first time, a limited vinyl edition was also released as a “complete” version consisting of a color booklet, 2 LP and 2 CD.
A year later, the single "She Cried" from the album was released as a 7 track EP.
