Beck, Bogert & Appice (BBA) was a British-American rock band , one of the supergroups of the 1970s , consisting of Jeff Beck (guitar), Tim Bogert (bass) and Carmine Appice (drums).

history

At the end of the 1960s, the Englishman Jeff Beck (known from the Yardbirds and the Jeff Beck Group ) played briefly with the American band Vanilla Fudge , to which Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice belonged. Since then, a joint project has been discussed again and again, but Beck had a car accident in 1970 and had to take a long break. Bogert and Appice left Vanilla Fudge that same year and formed the band Cactus .

In the fall of 1972, Beck, who had recovered, invited the two Americans to accompany him on recordings with Stevie Wonder . The result was the song Superstition , which became a hit for both Wonder and the new power trio BBA .

This was followed by the album Beck, Bogert & Appice and a successful Japan tour. During the tour, the live double album Beck, Bogert & Appice Live (also known as Live in Japan ) was recorded , which was only released in Japan . In 1974 BBA dissolved again.
