The Bede BD-10 is a single - engine light aircraft that was also offered as a do-it- yourself aircraft by the US manufacturer Bede Jet Corporation . According to advertising, the aircraft should be able to fly at supersonic speed , but this could not be achieved.
history
Jim Bede was responsible for the development . Development began in 1983. At the beginning of August 1993, the first supersonic jet for self-assembly came onto the market. The development was associated with great difficulties and was on the verge of being abandoned after the prototype was lost. The rights to build and develop the civilian variant were sold to the company Peregrine Flight International .
Furnishing
This machine has no hydraulics or ropes but only a mechanical control. The control surfaces are controlled by push rods . There is a central and a side stick connected to it. In Bug simple is weather radar installed. The two-man crew can be seated under a large one-piece cockpit hood . In contrast to the military version, the civil version had no ejection seats . The hydraulics are limited to the wheel brakes and the chassis . The cockpit could be ordered with simple or more comprehensive equipment. The engine was protected from icing with small electrically heated air inlets . The airframe consists of 60% metal and 40% of composite materials , including a light, strong aluminum alloy and a honeycomb structure made of aluminum .
