Beitzel Peak is an elevation of the Marble Hills in West Antarctica . The summit in the northwest of the range of hills is about 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km) southeast of Minaret Peak . East of Beitzel Peak are the Craddock Crags .
The survey was named in 1966 by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after John E. Beitzel, a geophysicist and member of two South Pole - Queen Maud Land - crossings of the United States Antarctic Program in 1964–1965 and 1965–1966.
