Bekchan Salawdinowitsch Goigerejew ( Russian Бекхан Салавдинович Гойгереев ; * May 22, 1987 ) is a Russian wrestler . He became world champion in free style featherweight in Budapest in 2013 .

Career

Bekchan Goigerejev is of Chechen origin. He started wrestling as a teenager, but was not able to advance into the top class of Russian wrestlers until he was over 20 years old. He is a student and trains in Khasavyurt in the sports school of his coach VI Irbachanow. His first coach was Olchosur Mintulajew. He concentrates on the free style and wrestles at a height of 1.70 meters in featherweight, the weight class up to 60 kg body weight.

He first appeared on the international wrestling mat in 2011, when he achieved good results in several prestigious tournaments. In April 2013 he surprised at the Russian championship. He won ahead of Timur Pesterew and the internationally very successful Bessik Kuduchow and Opan Sat , after having only won one medal at this championship. In July 2013, it was used, as it were, for the dress rehearsal, at the Universiade in Kazan. He also won there in featherweight before Ehsanpour Behnam from Iran, Hacı Əliyev from Azerbaijan and Wassil Schuptar from Ukraine.

In September 2013 he started at the World Championships in Budapest. There he was able to fully justify the trust placed in him, because he won the world title with six wins in a superior style. The wrestlers he defeated in the process were Brandon Disair Diaz Ramirez, Mexico, Andrei Perpeliță, Moldova, Franklin Gómez Matos, Puerto Rico, Artur Arakeljan , Armenia, Masoud Esmailpouraouybari , Iran and, in the final, Vladimir Dubow , Bulgaria. What was noticeable was his enormous physical strength, paired with solid technical ability.

In January 2014, Bekchan Goigerejew lost in the final of the "Ivan Yarigin" memorial in Krasnoyarsk in the new weight class up to 61 kg against the 2012 Olympic champion in bantamweight Jamal Otarsultanow on points. He was nevertheless used by the Russian Wrestling Association at the European Championships this year in Vantaa / Finland and started in the new weight class up to 61 kg body weight. He won there over Krzysztof Bienkowski, Poland, Jasin Redjalari, Macedonia and Andrei Perpeliță, Moldova and was thus in the final against the Azerbaijani Hacı Əliyev , against whom he lost by a surprisingly clear point defeat (5:12 points). He therefore had to be content with the EM silver medal.
