Bel Taimpel
The Bel Taimpel church ( Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Puter for "beautiful temple") is a listed Protestant - Reformed church in the center of Celerina in the Upper Engadin . For a long time the main and sermon church of the village, it is now mainly used for cultural events, while Sunday services take place in the Crasta church and funerals and weddings in San Gian .
History and equipment
In the years 1667–69 after the turmoil in Graubünden , today's building was built in the Baroque style. San Niculò in Pontresina served as a model . The church tower from 1669, renovated and expanded in 1718, rises directly above the choir .
The nave is vaulted like a barrel. In the choir, which is closed on three sides, there is a font in late Gothic style. The pulpit with a decorated sound cover dates from the founding time.
Church organization
Bel Taimpel is part of the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès with the two other Reformed Celerin churches within the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden .
