Reformed Church Celerina Crasta
The Church Celerina Crasta is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church in the center of Celerina Crasta in the Upper Engadine . Today it is the main preaching church in the town.
History and equipment
The church shows the oldest building structure from the 14th century. It is first documented in the pre-Reformation period 1500 under the patronage of Mary . Since the Reformation in Celerina was adopted in 1577 (as the last village in the Upper Engadine ), it has been a Reformed preaching church .
The tower with exposed brickwork, two-story bell house and a small tent roof shows a Romanesque architectural style. Inside the church, a keel arch separates the choir from the nave . In front of the choir on the left is a polygonal high pulpit . In the center of the choir is a small baptismal table on which, according to the Reformed Graubünden tradition, the Lord's Supper is celebrated, while the three-prospect organ is attached to the choir wall.
Church organization
The church Crasta belongs with the other two Reformed churches Celerina, San Gian and Bel Taimpel , within the Evangelical Reformed Church Graubünden for Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Surses .
