The Belait ( mal . : Sungai Belait) is the longest river in Brunei . It rises in the border triangle of the two districts of Belait and Tutong with Malaysia and has a length of 209 kilometers. Its catchment area of 2,700 km² practically includes the Belait district, which is also named after him. In the district capital Kuala Belait it flows into the South China Sea as a coffee-colored black water river .
