Belinda Bauer (writer)

Belinda Bauer (* 1962 in Great Britain ) is a British writer , screenwriter and journalist .

life and work

Belinda Bauer grew up in England and South Africa , studied journalism at Cardiff University after completing school and then worked as a journalist in Cardiff . After receiving the prestigious BAFTA Carl Foreman Award for Young British Screenwriters for her screenplay The Locker Room , she received a scholarship to study film and screenwriting at California State University . She returned to Wales after graduation and initially worked as a secretary, journalist and screenwriter before devoting herself entirely to her writing career. For her first thriller Blacklands , which was published in 2010 and published in the same year under the German title Das Grab im Moor by Goldmann Verlag , she was awarded the CWA Gold Dagger for the best English-language suspense novel. Since then, Belinda Bauer has published other successful thrillers and psychological thrillers.

The author lives and works in Wales.
