Since it is possible that the partnership will not be recognized in California , both should then enforce their marriage in the Supreme Court . Ben and Arthur get married in Vermont. Victor tries in vain to reach Arthur and prevent him from marrying. He eventually turns on private investigator Justin Abraham to find out more about Arthur,

Justin brings Victor the information about the couple two days later. Beside himself, Victor shoots the lawyer of the two in an underground parking lot. He tries to convert Arthur with a "healing water"; Meanwhile, Tammy attacks Ben with a gun and wants to reverse the divorce. Ben steals the gun and throws Tammy out of the apartment. Victor is expelled from his parish because of Arthur's homosexuality, which leaves him desperate. He decides to kill Arthur and is supported in the plan by the priest of the community, Father Rabin, who finds a killer for him.

During a first robbery at Ben and Arthur's apartment, Ben is shot by Victor, but survives. Arthur manages to bug Victor's cell phone. So he overhears the murder plans between Victor and father Rabin.
