Ben Berend (born June 29, 1995 ) is an American Nordic combined skier .

Career

Ben Berend starts for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club . He began his international career in January 2012 in two FIS races in Canada Olympic Park , which he finished with fifth and fourth places. On December 14 and 15, 2012, Berend made his debut in Soldier Hollow , Utah in the Continental Cup , where he finished 37th and 50th. Since then he has competed regularly in the Continental Cup, with his best result so far being a sixth place in Soldier Hollow in December 2015.

On January 3rd and 4th, 2014 Berend started in Schonach in the Black Forest for the first time in the Nordic Combined World Cup , where he achieved seventh place with the US team and 41st place in the subsequent individual competition. Since then, regular starts in the World Cup have followed; to date (as of March 2017), however, Berend has not yet achieved a top 30 placement.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , Berend reached eighth place in the team competition together with Bryan Fletcher , Taylor Fletcher and Ben Loomis . He finished 41st and 40th in the two individual competitions on normal and large hill.
