Bryan Fletcher (born June 27, 1986 in Steamboat Springs ) is a former American Nordic combined skier .

Career

Fletcher made his international debut in 2002 in the Nordic Combined B World Cup. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , he came in 49th place in the sprint. Two years later at the Junior World Championship in Rovaniemi in 2005 , Fletcher came in 37th place in Gundersen. With the team he reached 10th place in the team competition. In Kranj 2006, too , he did not make a breakthrough. Despite persistently mediocre results, he was part of the squad for the 2007 World Championships in Sapporo . There he reached ninth place with the team and came in 40th place in the sprint. From 2008 Fletcher started in the Continental Cup. After some good results there, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup on January 10, 2009 . He managed to land in the points in the first two World Cups in Val di Fiemme . With the World Cup points won, he finished the 2008/09 World Cup season in 65th place overall. In the following season he could not get any points in the World Cup. In the Continental Cup, too, except for fourth place in 2010 in Kuusamo, he was largely unsuccessful.

After a top 10 placement in the individual and team competition in the 2010/11 season , he narrowly missed a medal at the 2011 Nordic World Ski Championships with a fourth and sixth place in the team ranking. In the 2011/12 season he reached five top 10 placements in singles, plus three with the team, and was crowned with a World Cup victory in Oslo on March 10, 2012. In the 2012/13 season he achieved nine placements among the best Ten (including team ranking) and won bronze with the team at the world championships . In the 2013/14 Olympic season , he also achieved eight top 10 positions. At the Olympic Games in Sochi there was only one-digit placement with the team in sixth place. After seven World Cup top 10 placements in 2014/15 , the best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2015 was a fifth place in the individual on the large hill.

Fletcher ended his career on March 14, 2018 in Trondheim with a seventh place, his best position of the season.
