Ben Morris

Ben Morris (* 1969 or 1970 ) is a VFX Supervisor , in 2008 for The Golden Compass the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects received.

Life

He grew up in Oxford and went to college in Banbury . He then studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bristol and graduated in 1993. He then worked at Jim Henson's Creature Shop on The Muppets Christmas Story and A Pig Called Babe . In 1996 he moved to the Neal Scanlan Studio in Sydney for Piggy Babe in the big city .

From 1997 he worked for Mill Films on Gladiator . In 2000 he finally moved to Framestore , where he was involved in films such as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , Troy and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . In 2008 he received the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects for The Golden Compass . In 2014 he moved to the newly opened Industrial Light & Magic studio in London. In 2018 he was nominated for a second Oscar for his work on Star Wars: The Last Jedi .
