Benedict Fischer

Benedikt Fischer (born February 20, 1964 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German television journalist and writer of documentary films .

Life

After graduating from Beethoven-Gymnasium Bonn , Fischer studied communication and philosophy in Munich . Various internships and internships at ARD institutions and independent production companies followed. Completion of his training was an editorial traineeship at BR ( Bayerischer Rundfunk ) in 1991/92 . Since the beginning of 1993, Fischer has been working mainly for HR ( Hessischer Rundfunk ).

He is the author of numerous magazine articles, features and documentaries , especially from the social field. He also works as an editor ( television ) for magazine programs , features and reports in ARD and HR. For a short film and the subsequent documentary ("My Parents") about his own sick and disabled parents, he received several television awards , including the two highest church media awards in Germany in the same year (2008) - a unique event in the history of these awards. Another version of the film ("The Honor of My Parents") is part of the series "The Ten Commandments", which was broadcast from 2009 and has since been used for teaching and training purposes. Since 2013, Fischer has been working as jury coordinator for the Prix Europa, category TV-Documentary.

Fischer lives in Frankfurt am Main .
