Benno Kuhr
Benno Kuhr (born December 6, 1896 in Nuremberg , † October 31, 1955 in Reutlingen ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).
After attending primary school in Asch and secondary school in Würzburg , Benno Kuhr took part in the First World War as a war volunteer with the 2nd Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment from August 1914 . He then belonged to the Bayreuth Freikorps from 1919 to 1920 and was then a leader in the Oberland Bund . In January 1923 he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 16.076), which he rejoined after its temporary ban on May 1, 1929 (membership number 126.621). From 1929 he was honorary district leader of the party in Hof and from March 1932 full-time district leader. From 1930 to 1939 Kuhr was a member of the SS , where he became Obersturmführer. In 1933 Kuhr became mayor of Schwarzenbach an der Saale .
On October 4, 1939, Kuhr joined the National Socialist Reichstag as a member of constituency 25 (Lower Bavaria) in the replacement procedure for the late MP Peter Bell . After Richard Wendler became politically active in occupied Poland, Kuhr took over his position as mayor in Hof without having been elected. From there he fled in a pilot's uniform in April 1945, but was exposed shortly afterwards and arrested in Regensburg. From the summer of 1948 he was sentenced to five and a half years in a labor camp as the main culprit by the court court. On appeal, he was downgraded to an activist in Nuremberg in October 1949 and his sentence was reduced to four years. This was considered to have been paid for and Kuhr was then dismissed. He died in Reutlingen in 1955.
