Benno Paulitz

Benno Paulitz (* 1951 in Potsdam ) is a former German wrestler .

Career

He started wrestling at Motor Babelsberg when he was 10 years old . Later he came to the children and youth sports school Luckenwalde and passed his Abitur there. From 1970 he was in the wrestling team of SG Dynamo Luckenwalde and trained there intensively with coach Wolfgang Brösicke. After becoming GDR youth and GDR junior champions several times, good placements at European and world championships were the reward for hard training. From 1976 he studied sports education at the DHfK Leipzig and at the Humboldt University in Berlin and passed his diplomas. From 1987 to 1990 he was an association trainer for youth and juniors in the wrestling association of the GDR. From 1993 to 2001 Benno Paulitz was national coach for the freestyle youngsters in the DRB . From 2001 to 2003 he was national coach for the men's freestyle in the DRB. Benno Paulitz now lives as a freelance health trainer for yoga, pilates, fitness and back school in Berlin.

Benno Paulitz was East German middleweight, freestyle champion in 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1975.
