Benoît-Dominique de la Soujeol

Benoît-Dominique de la Soujeol (born August 21, 1955 in Toulouse ) is a French Roman Catholic theologian and Dominican . He teaches at the University of Friborg in Switzerland.

De la Soujeol received his doctorate in theology in 1997 and became professor of dogmatic theology in Freiburg in 1999. In 2014 he opposed the university's honorary doctorate for Judith Butler . According to « La Liberté » he said he was not in favor of gender studies or the award of an honorary doctorate to Butler. That is why he wanted to stay away from the Dies academicus .

On 17 December 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to a consultor of the Congregation for Catholic Education .
