Benoît Philippe [bönoa filip] (* 9. January 1959 in Baden-Baden ) is a linguist, teacher , translator and Esperanto - writer .

biography

Philippe, born in what was then the French settlement of Baden-Baden, where he attended French pre-school and elementary school from 1963, then the French grammar school , where he began to learn German from 1969, the mother tongue of his parents, born in German-speaking Lorraine ( France). In 1976 he passed the French Abitur ( baccalauréat ).

1976 to 1983 studied German and French philology at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , where Benoît Philippe learned Occitan and Romanian . At the beginning of his studies, he accidentally discovered a textbook for Esperanto in a bookstore in Colmar, Alsace , which he then learned in 1980 with his friend Hubertus Schweizer - Esperantist since 1973. 1983 to 1991 postgraduate studies in linguistics and French literature at the University of Konstanz and doctorate as Dr . phil. with the dissertation Language change in a planned language using the example of Esperanto

In 1993, Benoît Philippe changed from French to German citizenship and from this time worked as a high school teacher for French and German in Tuttlingen and from 1995 in Dresden, where he has been in charge of the Saxon Esperanto Library since 2001 .
