The 2nd Beovizija ( Serbian - Cyrillic Беовизија ) took place on February 20, 2004 in the Sava Centar in the Serbian capital Belgrade . It served as the Serbian semi-final for the Evropesma 2004, which in turn was the preliminary decision of Serbia and Montenegro for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 . 25 entries took part, the group Negative won with the song Zbunjena .

system

The 2004 Eurovision Song Contest marked the first participation of Serbia and Montenegro since 1992. The two broadcasters, Serbian Broadcasting (RTS) and its Montenegrin counterpart (RTCG), decided to hold a joint preliminary decision. Each broadcaster broadcast four songs, plus 16 more contributions that were sought internally across the country. While RTCG opted for an internal selection, RTS used the Beovizija for the pre-selection, which was held for the second time in 2004.

The system remained basically the same as last year and was also adopted by the Evropesma . Nine juries awarded points from one to ten, with ten being the highest possible value. The ninth jury, however, was the result of a telephone vote .

Evropesma

At the final of the Evropesma, which took place on the following day (February 21, 2004), none of the qualifiers from the Beovizija could prevail. The group Negative (Zbunjena) reached fourth, Leontina (Zamisli) twelfth place and thus still in the first half of the table. Nataša Kojić with Oko plavo received only one point and thus reached the penultimate place, Boris Režak (Zauvijek) crossed the finish line last without points.

With Željko Joksimović (Lane moje) , however, a Serbian candidate won; he was one of the internally selected candidates. At the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest he came second.
