The 5th Beovizija ( Serbian - Cyrillic Беовизија ) took place on March 8, 2007, with a semi-final the day before. It was the Serbian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki ( Finland ). The Beovizija 2007 was held by the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) in the Sava Centar in Belgrade . The singer Marija Šerifović won the Eurovision Song Contest for Serbia with her song Molitva and in May 2007.

format

concept

In previous years the Beovizija served as the Serbian qualifying for the Evropesma event , in which Montenegrin songs also competed for the Serbian-Montenegrin ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest. After Montenegro left the confederation, the Evropesma became obsolete and therefore abolished. There were also changes at the Beovizija as a result. Instead of a final with always over 20 songs, a semi-final with 20 contributions was added, from which ten qualified for the final. The voting was also changed, the jurors and the televoting were now equal.

From the more than 200 submitted entries, Anja Rogljić, Ana Milićević, Zoran Dašić, Jelena Ilić, Nikoleta Dojčinović, Miki Stanojević and Bilja Krstić selected the 20 semi-finalists.

Semifinals

The semi-finals of the Beovizija took place on March 7, 2007, 9:00 p.m. ( CET ) and - like the Beovizijas in 2005 and 2006 - was moderated by Jelena Jovičić and Boda Ninković. It was broadcast on television via RTS1 and RTS Sat, the satellite channel of the Serbian diaspora. In addition, the broadcast could be seen on the Internet via a live stream. The jury for the semi-finals consisted of Branislav Dimitrijević, Aleksandar Lokner and Maja Japundža-Nikolić. Last year's winners , Flamingosi , performed during the evaluation and also received the prize for the best Beovizija contribution of the previous year for their song Ludi letnji ples .

Since at the end of the jury vote, both the Negative and Suza Dinić had received ten points from one jury member each - and none else - a runoff was carried out among the jury members, who could win negative. Otherwise, Prava star would have qualified. The exact voting result was published a week after the semi-finals.
