Bereslavka (Ukrainian and Russian Береславка ; formerly Janiwka / Янівка - Russian Яновка / Janowka ) is a village in central Ukraine .

It is located about 68 kilometers south of the city of Kropywnyzkyj in Kirovohrad Oblast , Bobrynez district in a valley of the Stepivka brook (Степівка).

Together with the villages Nykonoriwka (Никонорівка) and Novohomelske (Новогомельське) as well as the main town Wassyliwka (Василівка) these places form a district council.

The place was founded as a colony in the 19th century and is the birthplace of Leon Trotsky .
