The father was imprisoned because of opposition in the GDR , which led him to the Soviet labor camp Vorkuta . Through the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union and the FRG, he was surprisingly released in 1955 when the ten thousand returned home with many other political prisoners and relocated to the West. The mother relocated in 1957 and moved with her husband to Güttersbach , a little later their son Ulf and daughter were born. When the father accepted an appointment as professor of aesthetics and communication at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences , the family moved to Friedrichsdorf im Taunus. Schueppel attended the Humboldt-Gymnasium in Bad Homburg before the height up to the Abitur. After doing community service and spending several months in Paris, he studied German, Romance languages and linguistics at the University of Heidelberg . In addition to his studies, he was part of the spoken words group Poesie & Krach , which published numerous music cassettes as well as limited text books (including NoMade in Germany , VipDip Deluxe , an overdose of aspirin ).
