Berkeley Fudge

Berkeley Fudge (* 28. November 1937 ) is an American jazz - saxophonist , band leader and music teacher .

Fudge has performed with musicians such as Sonny Stitt , Lena Horne , Gene Ammons , Roland Kirk , Don Patterson , Ruth Brown , Esther Phillips , Bobby Vee , Thelma Houston , Lonnie Liston Smith and Richard Davis . As director of the Berkeley Fudge Quartet , he received the 2001 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Award for Best Traditional Jazz Musician and was named Best Musician of the Year by the Milwaukee Arts Board in 2003 .

He was artist in residence at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has taught at the Milwaukee Area Technical College . He was also the Artistic Director of the Milwaukee Jazz Experience and the YWCA Global Career Academy . From 1972 to 2010 he taught at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music . Tom Lord records three recordings between 1993 and 2002.
