Berlin photography studios in the 19th century
Berlin photography studios in the 19th century is the subject of a research project initiated in 2003 and a long-term research project at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences in the field of museum studies . Under the direction of Professor Sibylle Einholz is thereby established with the 1865 Association for the history of Berlin cooperates , whose photographic collection is one of the foundations of the research project.
State of research
For the period from 1870 to 1890, more than 800 names of the students have so far (as of February 2008) been determined, which are presented in an online database that is to be expanded with addresses and dates . "Including all decades from 1850 onwards, one can probably assume far more than 1000 studios in ... Berlin by 1900. "
