The Berliner Segler-Verband e. V. ( BSV ) is the association of sailing clubs that have their headquarters in Berlin. The BSV is the professional association for sailing of the Landessportbund Berlin and an extraordinary member of the German Sailing Association (DSV) . As a regional association, it is currently responsible for 108 sailing clubs in Berlin.

Organization and activity

The association is a registered association with its seat and office in Berlin. Around 12,000 members are organized in the BSV associations, including around 2,000 children and young people. The organs of the association are the Berliner Seglertag, which performs the tasks of a general assembly, and the board of directors. The sailing day draws u. a. also members, so in 2013 he awarded the members Kathrin Kadelbach , Robert Stanjek and Frithjof Kleen “the golden badge of honor of the Berlin Sailing Association for their participation in the 2012 Olympic Games and their sailing successes”.

The association supervises and promotes sailing in all forms within the State of Berlin on the basis of amateur sports. It represents the common interests of the associations that it includes in public, towards authorities and other associations, at the Landessportbund and the DSV eV He sets the dates and regattas for the regattas for non-association races.

Berlin has numerous bodies of water and thus also sailing areas. Due to the large number of Berlin sailing clubs, the Berlin Sailing Association is organized into six districts, the names of which indicate the geographical location of the associated sailing areas. These are Dahme District, Müggelsee District, Tegel District, Unterhavel District, Wannsee District and Zeuthen District.

Youth work

The members of the clubs of the Berlin Sailing Association who have not yet reached the age of 19 are organized in the Berlin Sailing Youth. The young sailors manage and administer themselves based on a youth regulation according to the statutes of the Berlin Sailing Association.
